The histories of the DRC and Rwanda are deeply intertwined and defined by conflict and tension. Rwanda has played an big role in the DRC's history, with much of the tension being a part of the Rwandan genocide. But the tensions have been rising once again, thanks to a renewed offensive in the eastern DRC by the Rwandan-backed March 23 movement.
