Ukraine Waited for Russia to Move 260,000 Tons of Weapons to the Front Line — Then Blew Them All Up

At oh five fifteen hours, local time, four Ukrainian FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missiles entered Russian airspace from the Sea of Azov, heading toward the weapons and ammunition depots at Azovske. At first, Russian radar crews believed they were facing a simple interception. But those four missiles were only the opening layer of a much larger Ukrainian strike package.

What followed was a fast-moving battle of radar, timing, electronic warfare, and ammunition exhaustion. Russian S-400 and S-350 Vityaz batteries were forced to engage low-flying cruise missiles appearing late over the sea. Nebo-M radar struggled with faint, broken signals. The S-400 had only seconds to classify, lock, and fire. Then, as Russian air defenses burned through expensive interceptors, the real strike began to take shape.

Behind the FP-5 Flamingos came Storm Shadow / SCALP-EG cruise missiles, flying low and fast toward the Azovske weapons depot. At the same time, a swarm of AQ-400 Scythe drones pushed in from another direction, forcing the Buk-M3 battery to choose between saving missiles for high-value threats or spending them on cheaper UAVs. Even Krasukha-4 electronic warfare could not fully break the swarm’s attack axis.

One Storm Shadow was destroyed. But the second, damaged and losing fragments in flight, continued toward the depot. With Russian interceptors depleted and the final engagement window collapsing, SS2 slipped through the last gap and struck the ammunition storage area. The result was a chain of secondary explosions that tore through vehicles, ammunition containers, and supply clusters, turning one precision hit into a prolonged destruction sequence.
