The Saddest Subreddit Of All Time

The Snyder Cut movement was one of the most powerful fan campaigns in internet history and it actually worked. In 2021, Zack Snyder’s Justice League premiered on HBO Max, a massive win for the r/SnyderCut community. But in 2025, that same subreddit looks nothing like it used to. What began as a rallying point for creative restoration has turned into something much sadder: a stagnant forum of conspiracy posts, culture war outrage, and sabotage plans targeting James Gunn’s upcoming Superman (2025).

In this video, I break down the rise and fall of the SnyderCut subreddit. From James Gunn mocking fan sabotage campaigns, to mods removing anything critical of Snyder, to bizarre AI fanfiction and conspiracy theories about emasculating Superman, I go through it all. This is what happens when a fan campaign loses its mission but refuses to let go.
