Video Information

All legendary Pokemon from every Gen fully explained!

Legendary Pokemon are some of the Strongest in the series. What started as a small group of 4 in Pokemon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow has climbed to 74 in generation 9. In Gen 1 we had the legendary Birds, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and in Galar we received their Galarian variants. Of course, the original games also gave us the most iconic legendary of all, Mewtwo.

In Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal (as well as Heart Gold and Soul Silver) we got 5 new legendaries. The legendary beasts, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, and the Tower Duo Lugia and Ho-Oh.

Generation 3's Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald gave us the Legendary Titans, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, the Eon Duo, Latios and Latias, and the Super Ancient Pokemon, Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza. In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire these pokemon could transform into Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza.

Generation 4, Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum has the Lake Guardians, Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf, the Pokemon of Myth created by Arceus - Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, as well as Heatran, Regigigas, and Darkrai's counterpart Cresselia. Legends: Arceus also allowed us to transform Dialga and Palkia into their Origin Formes.

Generation 5, Pokemon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, included the Forces of Nature, Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. Legends: Arceus added to this group with Enemorus, and each of these pokemon can transform into their Therian forms with the reveal glass. These games also have the Swords of Justice, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion who trained Keldeo. And finally, Reshirom and Zekrom, who can be fused with Kyrurem to make White Kyurem and Black Kyurem.

Generation 6 was the smallest group of legendaries with Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde - though Zygarde has a 10%, 50%, and 100% forme.

Generation 7 took place in Alola with Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Here we have Type: Null and Silvally who were made by the Aether Foundation. The island Guardians, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini. And the Light Trio, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma. Necrozma can then transform into Dusk Mane, Dawn Wing, Or Ultra Necrozma.

Generation 8, Sword and Shield, only had 3 legendary pokemon. These are Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus. In the Isle of Armor DLC Kubfu and Urshifu were added, and in the Crown Tundra Regieleki, Regidrago, Calirex, Glastrier, and Spectrier were introduced.

Finally, in generation 9, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, we had the Sacred Treasures, Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu, as well as The Paradox duo, Koraidon and Miraidon. The Loyal 3, Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, as well as their rival Ogrepon were introduced in the Teal Mask DLC, and finally, Terapagos was first added in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.
