The video covers the following:
1. MMPI: The MMPI-2 is a 567 item, true/false self-report measure of a person's psychological state. It has nine validity scales (or ‘lie’ scales), assessing for lying, defensiveness, faking good and faking bad and among others
2. Personality disorder definition: An enduring disturbance characterized by problems in the functioning of aspects of the self (e.g., identity, self-worth, the accuracy of self-view, self-direction), and/or interpersonal dysfunction (e.g., ability to develop and maintain close and mutually satisfying relationships, ability to understand others’ perspectives and to manage conflict in relationships).
3. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): BPD has nine symptoms that span affective, interpersonal, and intrapersonal disturbances. Impairments in self-functioning and interpersonal functioning with pathological personality traits of negative affectivity, disinhibition and antagonism.
4. PTSD: Exposure to trauma :
The person was exposed to death, threatened death, actual or threatened serious injury
• Direct exposure
• Witnessing the trauma
• Learning that a relative or close friend was exposed to a trauma
• Indirect exposure to aversive details of the trauma, usually in the course of professional duties (e.g., first responders, medics)
Intrusion and re-experiencing symptoms
Negative alterations in cognition and mood
Hyperarousal
Avoidance phenomenon

5. Complex PTSD: Complex PTSD occurs due to exposure to repeated or prolonged instances or multiple forms of interpersonal trauma, often occurring under circumstances where escape is not possible.
Complex PTSD consists of PTSD + Disturbances of self-organization (DSO). The domains of DSO defined in the ICD-11 include (Cloitre et al. 2018):
Emotional dysregulation
Negative self-concept
Interpersonal difficulties
6. Trauma and BPD:
Adults diagnosed with BPD have been shown to be three times more likely than adults with other psychiatric or personality disorders to have experienced childhood maltreatment.
